How to use
Drop a PDF onto the upload area and it converts right in your browser — a progress bar tracks pages as they render. Every page becomes a lossless PNG displayed in a thumbnail grid; download any single page or grab all pages as a zip. Powered by pdf.js running locally: the file is never uploaded, so it is safe for confidential documents and even works offline once the page has loaded.
Why use this tool
PNG is the right choice when quality matters: text stays razor sharp with no JPG compression artifacts, and transparency is preserved. Use it for embedding PDF pages into documentation, slides, or web pages, capturing diagrams and charts, or archiving pages as pixel-perfect images. Like all our browser-local tools, the privacy story is simple — the PDF never leaves your device, unlike upload-based converters. Each page renders at 2x scale for crisp results on modern displays.
FAQ
- PNG or JPG — when should I use PNG?
- PNG is lossless: text edges stay perfectly sharp and there are no compression artifacts, at the cost of larger files. Use PNG for text-heavy pages, diagrams, and anything you will zoom into; use JPG for photo-heavy pages and smaller files.
- Does my PDF get uploaded?
- No. Conversion runs entirely in your browser with pdf.js. Nothing is sent to any server — verify it yourself by loading the page and then going offline.
- What resolution do the PNG images have?
- Pages render at 2x scale (about 144 DPI). A standard A4 page becomes roughly 1190x1684 pixels — sharp for screens, documentation, and presentations.
- Can I extract just one page as an image?
- Yes. After conversion every page appears as a thumbnail — hover the page you want and click the download icon to save just that page.
